Belcalis Almanzar also known as Cardi B, was born in the Bronx, New York on 1992. Cardi B first started to get attention through social media and appeared in VH1's reality show Love & Hip Hop from 2015 to 2017. Later in 2017, she release her first single "Bodak Yellow", which became an instant viral hit. Cardi B then received two grammys, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. Cardi's personal life made headlines when she and Offset, a group member from Migos announced their engagement on October 2017.
Cardi B's successful didn't just stop there, as she collaborated with G-Eazy on "No Limit," and with Migos and Nicki Minaj on "MotorSport". She also then released her second single "Bartier Cardi" with 21 Savage in December. Starting out 2018, Cardi B collabed with Bruno Mars on "Finesse", which was later performed Live on the 60th Grammys. On April 6th 2018, Cardi released her long awaited album, "Invasion of Privacy", which did not take long to break records. Her album featuring many known artist like Migos, 21 Savage, SZA and Kehlani, broke record held by Taylor Swift's Reputation for most streams by a female artist in an album's first week. Cardi B also collabed on music videos with Bad Bunny and J Balvin on "I like it", with Jennifer Lopez on "Dinero" and with Maroon 5 on "Girls like you" all during May and June.
Earlier in April, Cardi B confirmed the rumor that she was pregnant while performing on Saturday Night Live. Following the next month, she confirmed it was a girl and canceled a series of planned shows through the spring and summer until joining Mars's 24K Magic World Tour in September. Although not knowing much about the film, Cardi B revealed her first movie deal in January. And according to TMZ, Cardi B had to turn down a few gigs to start filming during March.
